Hi, I'm Christine,
I am a Mom of 3 kids married to the very patient Al and I live in the small town of Kilcock in Ireland where I have a yoga studio called YoGrá Yoga. The word Grá means love in Irish. We are situated at Kilcock Celtic Football Club at The Bawnogues in Kilcock.
I fell in love with yoga over 14 years ago and I haven't stopped practicing and studying since!
I completed a 200hr training in 2016 with Paula Mitten of Durga Ireland and I went on to work with her as a teacher and a teacher trainer on the course. I have since completed another 800 hours of training and I still don't feel like I'm finished!!
I have a dodgy hip- that's my thing, some days I cant walk other days I'm fine but I've learned over the years that every body is completely different, each time we come to the mat we are changed. And if the hip situation has taught me anything its that the physical practice is only a small part of Yoga.
I really enjoy working with people and creating ways to make the physical yoga practice accessible especially to those who have limitations and disability. Over the past year I have been working with adults with Intellectual disabilities and they have taught me so much more than I could ever teach them and that is the beauty of yoga- Giving as well as receiving.
I try my best to teach in an authentic and respectful way, honouring the traditional roots of yoga. Asana (the poses) are just one limb of the Yogic path as set out in Patanjali's Yoga Sutras and I live my life on and off the mat using these as a guide.
I welcome ALL people to my class. ALL genders, ALL colours, ALL creeds, ALL beliefs, ALL disabilities and ALL abilities. (I also welcome dogs and cats when we are online !!)
You can find out more about me by connecting with me on Instagram and Facebook where I share openly about life as mom and a yoga teacher ( I don't take myself too seriously!) . I also have a YouTube Channel with plenty of Free content for you to enjoy.
Thanks for taking the time to read my bio, I look forward to welcoming you to the studio in Kilcock or connecting online soon,
